Welcome to Hausbook, operated by SiegHaus LLC. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Hausbook platform, including our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
Hausbook is a home asset management platform that aggregates property records, maintenance history, contractor information, and advisor assessments. The platform facilitates data collection, analysis, and coordination among homeowners, contractors, and advisors. Hausbook does not itself perform home inspections, repairs, contracting work, or professional advice.
All data submitted to Hausbook, including property information, documents, photographs, inspection records, maintenance histories, and contractor assessments, becomes the property of Hausbook (SiegHaus LLC). By submitting data to the platform, you grant Hausbook a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, copy, modify, display, and distribute such data. Property records are tied to addresses, not individual users. When property ownership transfers, access to property records transfers to the new owner.
Users cannot delete or modify records submitted by other parties. Only Hausbook platform administrators may remove data through soft delete procedures, which preserve data integrity and audit trails. Users may request corrections to factual errors in data they submitted, subject to platform review. Records contributed by contractors, advisors, or other third parties remain permanent regardless of whether that party remains a platform user.
Each user who submits data to Hausbook certifies that the information is accurate, complete, and truthful to the best of their knowledge. Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of data they contribute. Hausbook does not independently verify the accuracy of user-submitted information. Hausbook is not responsible for inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading data contributed by users. Users who submit inaccurate data may be subject to account suspension or termination.
Data on Hausbook is tagged by source type: self-reported (homeowner), contractor-submitted, advisor-submitted, or third-party data. Higher verification tiers carry greater credibility within the platform but do not constitute guarantees of accuracy or quality. Verification status is informational only and does not constitute professional certification, endorsement, or liability assumption by Hausbook.
Hausbook is a data hosting and coordination platform. The platform aggregates information contributed by third parties and does not independently verify, inspect, or validate such information. Hausbook is not a substitute for professional home inspection, engineering review, or licensed contracting services. Data on Hausbook should not be relied upon as the sole basis for major home-related decisions without independent professional verification. Users are responsible for engaging qualified professionals for important home-related matters.
Contractors who use Hausbook must maintain current general liability insurance and all licenses and certifications required by applicable law. Contractors must provide proof of insurance upon request. Failure to maintain current insurance or valid licenses will result in automatic suspension of platform access. Verification by Hausbook does not constitute endorsement, warranty, or assumption of liability for contractor work. Contractors are independent service providers; Hausbook does not control their work, quality, or business practices. All data, photos, and job documentation submitted by contractors becomes property of Hausbook and part of the permanent property record.
Advisors (Registered Home Asset Managers and similar professionals) on Hausbook are independent professionals. Advisors are not inspectors and do not perform engineering or structural assessments unless explicitly credentialed to do so. All assessment findings and recommendations provided by advisors are advisory in nature and should be reviewed by qualified professionals before reliance. Hausbook does not guarantee, endorse, or warrant the quality or accuracy of advisor assessments. Advisors are responsible for maintaining appropriate professional credentials and insurance. All advisor-submitted data becomes property of Hausbook.
Property records belong to the property address, not to individual users. A property's complete history, including all submitted records, belongs to the address itself. When property ownership transfers, the new owner gains access to all historical records for that property. Users do not have the right to remove historical records or require deletion of data about a property when they cease to own it.
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to impersonate any person or entity, to upload malicious content, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems, to submit false or fraudulent data, or to interfere with the proper functioning of the Service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You may request deletion of your user account at any time through your account settings. Termination of your account does not result in deletion of data you contributed; such data remains property of Hausbook and part of the property record. Hausbook may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
HAUSBOOK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. HAUSBOOK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. HAUSBOOK IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ACTIONS, DECISIONS, OR OMISSIONS OF CONTRACTORS, ADVISORS, OR OTHER USERS. HAUSBOOK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY, QUALITY, COMPLETENESS, OR LEGALITY OF DATA SUBMITTED BY USERS OR THIRD PARTIES. HAUSBOOK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY, SAFETY, OR LEGALITY OF SERVICES PERFORMED BY CONTRACTORS OR ADVISORS. IN NO EVENT SHALL HAUSBOOK'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO HAUSBOOK IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hausbook, SiegHaus LLC, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Pennsylvania.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the platform and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
